Two old books given a second life
The two 18th-century books above were in an extremely deteriorated state. Each book underwent a meticulous restoration process, beginning with a careful disassembly, thorough cleaning. Loose pages and edges Addwere sewn in at both the front and back to ensure durability. New headbands were expertly sewn on, followed by the application of hand-dyed leather to the spine to match the original. The restoration was completed with gold tooling along the spine. Both books were beautifully rejuvenated, and the client was delighted with the remarkable outcome.
16th Century Book re-backed
This book had a deteriorated spine, with both boards loosened and no headbands present. The book underwent re-backing, accompanied by blind tooling beside the bands to seamlessly blend in with the original design. Headbands were meticulously sewn using linen thread and aged to match the book’s overall appearance
Early History of the Bible
Presenting two exquisite volumes of the History of the Bible. Both volumes arrived with loose boards, necessitating re-backing. Additionally, new headbands were sewn, enhancing both the aesthetic and structural integrity of the books. The spine of each volume was adorned with 23.5 Ct gold tooling.
Large Family Bible
A Large Victorian Family Bible that underwent re-backing. Headbands were sewn, also the edges of the book, where loose pages were present, were edge-sewn to enhance its overall strength.
Massive King James Bible
The boards of this Large English Bible were detached, and there was no spine material remaining. It was then meticulously rebound in cow leather, with blind tooling applied in an effort to match the period’s style.

Two beautiful old editions of Josephus rebacked, with the original spine labels carefully retained.
New headbands were hand-sewn and sympathetically aged to match.
